REMA Supports Brake Road Safety |

12 December 2005 - REMA, the trade association for manufacturers of retroreflective traffic safety products, has donated £1,000 to Brake, the road safety charity dedicated to prevention, through education, of death and injury on the roads and caring for people bereaved or affected by serious road injury. REMA chairman, Mike Mason, presented a cheque to Aimee Bowen, Brake’s communication officer, at the association’s annual general meeting held at the International Convention Centre, Birmingham. “With its relentless year-round campaigning and high-profile annual Road Safety Week, Brake is outstanding in its promotion of road safety awareness,” commented Mike Mason. “REMA members are delighted to add their support. Each year REMA donates interest that accrues on its financial reserves to a nominated charity Following this year’s Annual General Meeting, REMA members were joined for lunch by guests from the Department for Transport, Association for Road Traffic Safety and Management and Brake. - ends -

Editors Notes: Established for 30 years, REMA is the trade association and co-ordinated voice for the manufacturers of retroreflective traffic safety products that are used mainly on the highway, but are also vital at airports, industrial sites and sports grounds. In many of the product areas - road cones and road studs, for example - REMA represents all the major UK manufacturers.
